Our founder grew up a cowboy, riding a horse since before he can remember how. Nights were spent around campfires listening to stories. He’s come to realize over the last 25 years the key to communicating anything is stories.

We are all just a bunch of big kids at heart. Stories bring us back to our heart, back to our emotions, back to why we get excited.

People make choices first with their hearts and then they convince themselves with their heads. No matter who you are, how much you try and deny it, the science is clear.

The Core Purpose of The Adora Company

We believe that the world needs more actions that do good.

Right now there is no baseline measurement for how much good is being done in the world. We do not know how many hours are spent, how much money is invested, what progress or improvement is being made, or how many people are committed to increasing impact that is good.

The Core Purpose at Adora:

The Focus on, and Impact of ‘Doing Good’ must increase to improve the Human Experience.

This is what guides all of our companies and all of our activities.

In order to measure an increase we must first establish a baseline. One of our BHAGs (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) is to be able to measure the good done in the world by 2025.

Then we want to help increase the good done but 1% per month (YoY) or 12% per year for 10 years.

This means that we want to see a 120% increase in the amount of good being done in the world by 2035.

We looked at what we do at Adora create and how our activities fit in with our over arching goal of increasing the focus and impact of ‘Doing Good’ and we found a wonderful Core Principle:

An increase in exposure to stories that Do Good will inspire those who see these stories to Do More Good.

Our BHAG around this is to directly or indirectly (through direct inspiration) attract more views to positive stories every day than other sources (News & Online) gain views on negative stories.

Basically we want more Positive Stories being seen than Negative Stories

We know that we only gain an increase in doing good when we focus on doing good, when we focus on the negative we only gain more negative.

As humans we love stories, they paint pictures that pull us from our heads toward our hearts. No matter how much we claim to be driven by our logic, research shows it is our emotions that drive our choices.

We know that marketing is all about helping someone with a problem find a solution – stories are the key.

An interesting evolution in organizations is take place. For profit, non-profit, government, and individual owners all have unique motivations. 

When money is the goal motivation ends when the appetite for financial gain is fulfilled, but when a cause or passion is involved it’s more difficult to become satisfied. We love doing good, so there is no end to that pursuit.

What is the difference? A program is a combination of software and people power. A product is usually software that is only setup and monitored by a person. A service is often primarily a person doing the work.

We often call our packages programs because they are a combination of software and people.

When testing we let people try out our programs and products.

Once we know how it works and how it fits with our other programs, services, and products we realize how powerful the compounding effects often are.

Discover isn’t code for anything, it’s simply the process of listening. Listening to data, to you as the expert, to your customer, to the market, and to our experts. It is driven by the humble desire to just gather the right information.

Planning is where we take all the info and organize it into a plan that builds step by step. We don’t put the cart before the horse, we plan out activities that will set up future activities in a powerful way.

Action can look very different depending on how you go about it. With a solid plan action is confident and aligned, everyone is on board and clear on goals as well as the path to achieve them. Without a solid plan well… we’ve all seen that too many times.

To some this may seem like a ridiculous question – YET how often do you see activity that is so clearly lacking in strategic focus that it seems as if a brand is flailing about?

Strategy is the application of timeless principles to tactical actions and opportunities. The way something is done may change; the platform, the channel, the methods may evolve, yet the principles that guide our actions will stay true. This will help your brand feel timeless.

Like we say under the ‘Strategy’ FAQ tactics can change as methods evolve. When MySpace was the dominant social media platform, or AOL was the ISP of choice the foundation of storytelling was the same as it has been since the days of sitting around the campfire.

Digital advertising is very different today than it was in the early days of Google ads and it will be different tomorrow yet the principals of user feedback and attribution will only become more important and easier as technology improves. Tactics are the ways we implement a strategy, the detailed methods that help us reach milestones.

Real Tech doesn’t mean something other than a website, you can build real, amazing technology into a website. What this means is that you are looking to program a genuinely complex solution into a technology platform. 

We can do this through: Full stack web development, with a Progressive Web App (PWA), or we can build out solutions that are combined with IoT (Internet of Things) and systems integration or automation. How do you know if you need a simple or complex website? Are you looking for a website that just provides information or you only have a few products that you want to sell and you DON’T need a full ecommerce experience – then you may only need a simple website.


You do want to build in some strong technology, not quite a PWA (See the FAQ – What is ‘Real Tech’) but you do need some more complex functionality like a full, multi product ecommerce platform or a user based community, or an LMS (Learning Management System) – then you may need a complex website.

Digital marketing involves marketing to people using Internet-connected electronic devices, namely computers, smartphones and tablets. Digital marketing focuses on channels such as search engines, social media, email, websites and apps to connect with prospects and customers.

Basically using the same marketing principles but on the interwebs.

Digital marketing can give you access to an audience that you may have never before had the chance to tell a story to.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of using onsite and offsite tactics to help get content presented by a search engine. Done well, the practice increases the quantity and quality of your traffic.

The majority of web traffic is generated by search and those that come by way of search have a greater degree of commercial intent than most other channels.

An Avatar is a representation of your ideal customer based on market research and data. Avatars generally include customer demographics, behavior patterns, motivations, and goals. They should reveal insights about the customers’ decisions including attitudes, concerns and criteria that drive buying decisions.

Chances are your audience/avatar is active on one or more of the major social networks where billions of people spend time daily. Brands that understand the power of social media marketing and commit resources to it can boost awareness, drive traffic, interact with customers, drive sales, build loyalty, and win advocates.

Personal branding is the process of using online and offline tactics to market yourself individually as a professionally. Digital media has helped create an emphasis on personal branding for all types of hiring and purchase decisions.

Your brand is now in the hands of your audience. You can’t “control” what’s said about it. But you can join the conversations, show you care about your customers, and add value.

Email is stronger than ever. It’s more popular than any social media. It’s more private. More personal. More reliable. Most people rely on email and check their inbox multiple times each day.
